Cycloastragenol is a saponin extracted from the root of the Astragalus plant. It is found in in the astragalus plant in minute quantities and extracting it is a complex and very expensive process. Cycloastragenol was first marketed in dietary supplements in the US in 2007 under the name of TA-65.
